The Washington Nationals enter play tonight with a 7-8 record. They are coming off a three-game sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers in their last series. Tonight they start a new series with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Cade Cavalli will take on Paul Skenes tonight with the first pitch at 6:40 PM. Before the start of the series, Washington announced four roster moves, shaking up their bullpen.

Ken Waldichuk

The Washington Nationals have placed pitcher Ken Waldichuk on the 15-day injured list with left forearm tightness. He has appeared in five games this season for the Nationals with a 6.75 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across nine and one-third innings. Waldichuk has eight strikeouts on the year.

Cole Henry

The Nationals are placing pitcher Cole Henry on the 15-day injured list with a right rotator cuff strain. Henry has suffered two losses this season and has a 6.43 ERA and 1.71 WHIP through seven innings pitched.

Orlando Ribalta

The Nationals have recalled Orlando Ribalta from Triple-A ahead of tonight’s game. Ribalta has pitched in six games this season for the Rochester Red Wings. He has one win, a 3.38 ERA, and a 0.75 WHIP. He has recorded six strikeouts in five and one-third innings pitched this season.

Jackson Rutledge

The Nationals have recalled Jackson Rutledge, a pitcher from Triple-A, today. Rutledge has appeared in six games this year for Rochester with a 5.40 ERA, a 1.80 WHIP, and one strikeout across five innings of work.
