The Seattle Mariners have started their year off with an 8-9 record. They are currently a game and a half back in the AL West, tied for third place with the Angels. They swept the Astros in their last series. Seattle starts a three-game set with the Padres on the road tonight. Bryan Woo will pitch for the Mariners. He will face Michael King for the Padres. First pitch is at 6:40 PM PST. Today, before the game, the Mariners announced three roster moves. They sent one player to the paternity list and selected the contract of another from Tacoma.

Rob Refsynder

The Seattle Mariners have placed Rob Refsnyder on the Paternity list today ahead of their game in San Diego. He has played in eight games for the Mariners with three walks and no hits in 16 at-bats. Last season with Boston, Refsnyder slashed .269/.354/.484 with nine home runs and 30 RBI.

Blas Castano

The Mariners have designated Castano for assignment today. Castano has pitched in six games in Triple-A this season with three wins and one loss. He has a 1.42 ERA and a 0.75 WHIP this season through six and one-third innings of work. He has walked one and struck out four.

Patrick Wisdom

The Mariners have selected the contract of Patrick Wisdom from the Tacoma Rainiers ahead of their game with the Padres. Wisdom last played in the big leagues in 2024 with the Chicago Cubs. He hit .171/.237/.392 with eight home runs and 23 RBI. After a year overseas, the Mariners signed Wisdom to a minor league contract back on January 20th. This season in Triple-A, Wisdom has played in 15 games with nine home runs and 17 RBI. Wisdom is slashing .264/.371/.774 so far this season for Tacoma.
