Seattle Mariners Infield Prospect Hits for Cycle in Seven-Inning Game

The Seattle Mariners High-A affiliate, the Everett Aqua Sox, is facing the Eugene Emeralds, the affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Last night in the first game of a doubleheader, the Mariners seventh ranked prospect and the 96th overall prospect, Felnin Celesten, hit for the cycle.

In his first at-bat in the top of the first, he singled home a run to make it 1-0. Celesten, in the third inning, hit a solo home run that made it 3-1. In the fourth, he would strike out. In the top of the fifth, he doubled home a run to make it 8-4. His last at-bat came in the seventh, needing a triple, he got it on a ground ball to right field, driving in a run to make it 9-5. That would be the final as Celesten went 4-5 with four RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base in the win.

Celesten is hitting .320 with a .834 OPS in 65 games at High-A. He has 15 doubles, two triples, 11 home runs, 46 RBI, 49 runs scored, and 17 stolen bases.

Other Mariners Prospects

Other Mariners top prospects, such as Jonny Farmelo, who is ranked sixth, went 1-4 with a run scored. Eighth-ranked prospect catcher Luke Stevenson went 1-3 with an RBI, two walks, and two runs scored. Their 21st-ranked prospect outfielder Carlos Jimenez went 2-2 with an RBI, a walk, and a run scored.

Game Two

The second game of the doubleheader was suspended in the top of the third. Eugene led 6-5. Celesten was 2-2 with a double and a single; he had an RBI and a run scored. Farmelo was 1-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Celesten will look for a triple and a home run to complete another cycle in the second game.
