Kike Hernandez By The Numbers
In his time with the Red Sox, Hernandez played in 313 games, going 273-1166, posting a slash line of .234/.308/.382 and an OPS of .690. He has hit 70 doubles, three triples, 32 home runs, driven in 136 runs, and scored 170 runs. Hernandez was a vital part of the Red Sox run during the 2021 playoffs, in which they won the American League Wild Card game and advanced to ALCS, where their run eventually ended with a series loss to the Houston Astros. The Red Sox this season had planned to use Hernandez as their shortstop until Trevor Story returned, but that ultimately backfired as he committed 14 errors there, and his bat this season has not been the same either, posting a slash line of .222/.279.320 and an OPS of .599. Kike, in his career with the Dodgers, played in 648 games posting a slash line of .240/.312/.425 and an OPS of .737. He has 239 runs scored, 88 doubles, nine triples, 68 Home Runs, 213 RBI and went 400-1670. Hernandez is going back home, where he saw most of the success in his career as a super-utility man for the Dodgers.
