Roman Anthony was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, on May 13, 2004. He played high school baseball at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL. He was the fifth-ranked high school player in Missouri and the 107th-ranked player in the country in 2020.
In his junior year, he hit .362 in 28 games with 29 hits, six doubles, one triple, five home runs, 21 RBI, and 32 runs scored. In his senior year, he played 33 games and hit .504 with 52 hits, 14 doubles, one triple, ten home runs, 40 RBI, and 36 runs scored.
He finished his high school career playing in 61 games, hitting .443 with 81 hits, 20 doubles, two triples, 15 home runs, 61 RBI, and 68 runs scored. Anthony was the fourth-ranked player in Florida and the 14th overall player in the country. Anthony was committed to playing college baseball at the University of Mississippi.

Anthony started his Red Sox career at rookie ball and ended up in Single-A Salem. He combined to play in 20 games and slashed .306/.374/.361 with a .735 OPS; he had four doubles, 12 RBI, seven runs scored, one stolen base, and nine walks.
2023
Anthony played for Single-A Salem, High-A Greenville, and Double-A Portland. He combined to play in 110 games and slashed .272/.403/.466 with a .869 OPS; he had 27 doubles, four triples, 14 home runs, 64 RBI, 78 runs scored, 16 stolen bases, and 86 walks. He finished the season in the Top 100 prospect rankings at 35th and was ranked the Red Sox second overall prospect.
Future
ITD ranks Anthony as the Red Sox’s second-ranked prospect and the 20th overall prospect entering 2024. Anthony is not expected to debut in the big leagues until 2025, but if he continues his trend, it could be towards the middle or end of 2025.
