Boston Red Sox Down on the Farm 6/10-6/16

The Boston Red Sox Triple-A affiliate in Worcester took on the Buffalo Bisons and split their series. Their Double-A affiliate took on the Reading Fightin Phils and they split as well. The Greenville Drive High-A affiliate took on the Asheville Tourists, splitting their series as well. Their Single-A affiliate the Salem Red Sox took on Fayetteville and they were the only one of the four teams to win their series taking four of the six games.

Boston Red Sox Top 10 Prospects Recap

SS – Marcelo Mayer – Portland Sea Dogs

Mayer last week went 6-19 with two doubles, an RBI, two runs scored, and one walk, He is hitting .301 with a .848 OPS; he has six home runs and 30 RBI.

OF – Roman Anthony – Portland Sea Dogs

Anthony last week went 4-10 with a triple, a home run, two RBI, and four runs scored. This season he is hitting .271 with a .864OPS; he has six home runs and 19 RBI.

C – Kyle Teel – Portland Sea Dogs

Teel last week went 10-20 with a double, a home run, three RBI, eight runs scored, three walks, and a stolen base. This season he is hitting .313 with a .897 OPS; he has seven home runs and 40 RBI.

OF – Miguel Bleis – Greenville Drive

Bleis moved up to High-A Greenville and last week went 3-17 with a double, two RBI, four runs scored, two walks, and three stolen bases. This season he is hitting .250 with a .724 OPS; he has four home runs and 24 RBI.

RHP – Wikelman Gonzalez – Portland Sea Dogs

Gonzalez came in, in a relief role on Saturday going two shutout innings giving up three hits; he didn’t issue a walk and struck out five. This season he is 3-2 with a 7.58 ERA, a 1.61 WHIP, and 41 strikeouts in 38 innings.

2B – Nick Yorke – Worcester Red Sox

Yorke last week went 10-23 with three doubles, three RBI, six runs scored, five walks, and two stolen bases. This season between the two levels he is hitting .281 with a .782 OPS; he has six home runs and 36 RBI.

RHP – Luis Perales – Portland Sea Dogs

Perales is on the 7-day injured list dealing with a knee injury. This season he is 2-2 with a 2.94 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP, and 56 strikeouts in 33.2 innings.

SS – Yoeilin Cespedes – FCL Red Sox

Cespedes last week played in one game going 1-3 with a double, and a run scored. This season he is hitting .316 with a 1.009 OPS; he has four home runs and 22 RBI.

RHP – Richard Fitts – Worcester Red Sox

Fitts got the ball on Saturday going two innings giving up two runs on two hits; he walked three and struck out five. He is 4-2 with a 4.20 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP, and 50 strikeouts in 55.2 innings.

SS/2B – Mikey Romero – Greenville Drive

Romero last week went 6-23 with three doubles, four runs scored, and a walk. This season he is hitting .280 with a .757 OPS; he has two home runs and nine RBI.
