
Dylan Crews was born in Altamonte Springs, Florida, on February 26, 2002. He played high school baseball at Lake Mary High School in Lake Mary, FL. He was the second-ranked outfielder and second-overall player in Florida. 2018 Crews hit .400, going 12-30; in 2019, he hit .409, going 9-22. Over his high school career, he played in 19 games and hit .404 with 21 hits, four doubles, three triples, seven RBI, and 21 runs scored. Crews was the fifth overall outfielder and 13th overall player in the country.

Crews attended Louisiana State University, and he would play three seasons there, slashing .380/.498.689 with a 1.187 OPS; he had 43 doubles, eight triples, 58 home runs, 184 RBI, 237 runs scored, 23 stolen bases, and 152 walks. In 2023, he won the Golden Spikes award for the best collegiate player after he went 110-344 with 18 home runs, 70 RBI, and 100 runs scored. He was the second overall player entering the 2023 draft.

After being drafted, Crews jumped into the MLB.com rankings as he ranked fourth overall; he played for three different levels in the Nationals organization: their rookie ball team, Single-A Fredericksburg, and Double-A Harrisburg. In 35 games, he slashed .292/.377/.467 with a .845 OPS; he scored nine doubles, five home runs, 29 RBI, 26 runs scored, four stolen bases, and 14 walks.
2024
Crews was ranked the sixth overall prospect by Baseball America and fourth by MLB Pipeline. In 2024 played at Double-A Harrisburg, Triple-A Rochester, and with the Nationals. Crews in 51 games at Double-A he hit .274 with a .789 OPS. He had 11 doubles, three triples, five home runs, 38 RBI, 26 runs scored, 15 stolen bases, and 16 walks. Crews played in 49 games at Rochester hitting .265 with a .795 OPS. He had ten doubles, three triples, eight home runs, 30 RBI, 34 runs scored, ten stolen bases, and 20 walks. Crews made his debut with Washington playing in 31 games hitting .219 with a .641 OPS. He had five doubles, a triple, three home runs, eight RBI, 12 runs scored, 12 stolen bases, and 11 walks.
