MLB Game Recap
St. Louis secured a 9-6 victory in the 10th inning on Iván Herrera’s three-run, walk-off home run. Pirates starter Mitch Keller allowed four runs on four hits over 5.2 innings, departing with a 4-3 lead after Pittsburgh’s four-run rally in the fifth. The bullpen struggled to hold the line. Evan Sisk and Brandan Bidois surrendered solo homers. Then Mason Montgomery gave up the walk-off shot in the final frame.
Standout Performer
Bryan Reynolds provided the evening’s biggest offensive spark, finishing 1-for-4 with a two-run double and a hit-by-pitch. He hit a 411-foot double to left field in the fifth inning. This drove in two runs to tie the game at 3-3. This helped erase an early three-run deficit. Reynolds finished with two RBIs and a .385 on-base percentage for the night.
Key News & Notes

- Triple-A: Indianapolis’s game was postponed
- Double-A: Duce Gourson had a notable performance in the game. He went 1-for-4 with two RBIs. He also contributed with a stolen base in the Altoona Curve’s 4-2 victory over the Erie SeaWolves. Gourson’s two-out single in the second inning proved to be the difference-maker as the Curve snapped a losing skid.
- High-A: Murf Gray finished 1-for-5 with a solo home run. This happened in his Greensboro debut during a 13-9 loss to the Winston-Salem Dash. Gray’s fourth-inning blast to left-center field provided a glimpse of the power that earned him a quick promotion.
- Single-A: Khristian Palmer went 2-for-4 with a run. He achieved his 19th stolen base of the season. The Bradenton Marauders fell 3-2 to the Lakeland Flying Tigers. Palmer’s multi-hit game at the top of the order continues to pace the Marauders’ offense.
- Rookie: FCL Pirates no scheduled game

Looking Ahead
The Pirates continue their road series in St. Louis tonight with a 7:45 PM ET first pitch. Carmen Mlodzinski (3-3, 4.40 ERA) takes the mound for Pittsburgh against Cardinals Michael McGreevy (3-2, 2.10 ERA).
Losing O’Hearn’s veteran presence for a month is a significant blow. However, the arrival of “The Password” adds fresh intrigue to the lineup. What do you think?
