Picks of the Day, Friday 7/28

Thursday: Angels handled business in a big way yesterday. Ohtani threw his first career CG shutout in Game 1, and the bats took care of business in Game 2, which is all I cared about.; I took the damn under in Chicago because I loved the Bibbee/Cease matchup, and I was right, but the aptly named Aaron Bummer came in and allowed 1 more run than I bet on. That is the last time I bet an under this year, I think I’m 0-4.

1-1 Yesterday; $200 invested, $175 paid out
142-122 on the season.

Pick #1
Yanks @ Orioles, Gerrit Cole to record a win, +115
I feel dirty betting on this ass-hat to win, but he has come through for me a bunch of times this year. Plus, the Yanks get Judge back this weekend so that should be a big boost. Grayson Rodriguez twirls for the O’s, and he has almost a 7 ERA. Rough rookie campaign for the highly touted prospect.
Pick #2
Rays @ Astros, Rays Moneyline, -115
Shane McClanahan is the best pitcher in the AL, and the Rays need him tonight. The Astros are hot and closing in on Texas, and the Rays are cold and letting the East slip away. Yet, McClanahan has 1 loss, and the team has only lost 3 of his starts all year. Tonight is a big-boy start for the Ace.
Pick #3
Red Sox @ Giants, Total Runs Over 7.5, -120
Number just seems low. Sure, Kutter Crawford has been hot, but he’s still Kutter Crawford. Logan Webb gets the ball for SF, and he has had a fine season but has been smacked around a couple times recently. Combined, these teams score 9.6 runs per game and allow 8.9 runs per game

On Monday while everyone else was worried about Roki Sasaki, the Seattle Mariners announced the signing of Donovan Solano. Solano, […]
