Picks of the Day, 7/5

Lance Lynn squares off against Jose Berrios today in a battle of overpaid, under-performing pitchers at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Hope everyone had a great 4th, we all need to petition that July 5th also be a holiday. It feels wrong going to work today.
Last I bet, I went 3-0 on Friday to improve to 118-100 on the season, before taking a short vacation.
We have five days until the All Star break. Let’s make some money this week. I’ll try and do the math tonight, but I’m around 35 units up on the year.
Pick #1
Orioles @ Yankees, Orioles Moneyline, -120
The Yankees are giving Randy Vasquez another shot to start. In his two outings, Vasquez has performed well, albeit against struggling lineups, to a 1.74 ERA over 10+ innings. Vasquez’s minor league numbers are much less impressive though, and now he faces a good lineup desperate for a road win.
Pick #2
Blue Jays @ White Sox, Total Over 9 Runs, -115
Two of my favorite regular starters to bet against! Lynn is good for 5 runs himself almost every time he steps on the mound. I really don’t understand what is keeping him in a major league rotation at this point. Berrios continues to baffle. After a disastrous 2022, Jose started of 2023 with more of the same, before settling into a nice groove. But Berrios again finds himself getting hit hard with a 12.00 ERA over his last 3 outings.
Pick #3
Pablo Lopez to Record a Win vs. Royals, +100
Lopez has completed 5 innings or more in all but one start this year, usually going over 6 IP. He has also been very steady over his last 5 outings allowing 12 runs over 36.1 innings. The Royals have lost 6 of 8 games and trot out Alec Marsh, who got his poop pushed in in his only MLB appearance this year.
