Probable Starting Pitching

TBD vs. TBD

Currently neither team has revealed their game four pitching plans for tonight.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers have options. The obvious choice would be ace Freddy Peralta, who started game one and earned the victory after 5.2 innings pitched, allowing just two runs on four hits and striking out nine. They could save Peralta for a potential game five at home. They might use him for game one of the National League Divisional Series.

Another option would be to use Aaron Ashby as an opener. Ashby pitched 1.2 innings in game two of the series. He allowed three runs, three hits, two walks, one home run, and struck out one.

Jacob Misiorowski and Robert Gasser are options to follow Ashby in this scenario. Misiorowski threw three innings, allowing one hit, two walks, and striking out four. Gasser has yet to pitch in the series. The lefty made two starts this season. He has a 0-2 record, 3.18 ERA, and a 1.59 WHIP. He has not faced the Cubs this season at all.

Chicago Cubs

The Chicago Cubs are fighting for their season. They can decide to roll out Matthew Boyd on four days’ rest if they choose to do so. He started game one for the Cubs in the series Saturday night. Boyd only threw 30 pitches Saturday in a poor performance. He recorded two outs, allowed four hits, six runs, two earned, one walk, and struck out one. Aaron Civale could see the mound today as well. He followed Boyd in Game 1 and performed well. He pitched 4.1 innings, allowing three hits, no runs, no walks, and striking out three. Manager Craig Counsell will throw everything he has at the Brewers to get to a game five, but I would expect some mix of these three tonight for the Cubs
