The Milwaukee Brewers today will face the Chicago White Sox in the middle game of their three-game series. The Brewers won on opening day 14-2. Today, the Brewers placed first baseman Andrew Vaughn on the 10-day injured list retroactive to March 27th with a left hamate fracture. To replace Vaughn, the Brewers recalled catcher Jeferson Quero. Quero is the Brewers’ eighth-ranked prospect.

Andrew Vaughn
Vaughn, on opening day, went 1-4 with an RBI. The Brewers acquired him from the Chicago White Sox last season. Between the two teams, he played in 112 games, hitting .254 with a .719 OPS. He had 22 doubles, 14 home runs, 65 RBI, and 35 runs scored. With the Brewers, he played in 64 games, hitting .308 with a .869 OPS. He had 14 doubles, nine home runs, 46 RBI, and 26 runs scored. He really found his groove once he was traded to Milwaukee.
Jeferson Quero
Quero went 0-2 in yesterday’s season opener for the Nashville Sounds. He walked once. This spring, in six games, he hit .158 with a .358 OPS; he scored three runs. Last season, in 69 games in the minor leagues, he hit .271 with a .839 OPS. He had 17 doubles, a triple, 11 home runs, 57 RBI, 42 runs scored, and two stolen bases.
