Milwaukee Brewers Roster Moves 4/1/25

Milwaukee Brewers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Milwaukee Brewers are off to a 0-4 start to their 2025 season. While it is only four games, the Brewers have been hurting on all fronts, especially with their pitching staff. The Yankees swept them in their series opener. They also lost game one of their three-game series with the Kansas City Royals yesterday. Today, they have sent a reliever on a rehab assignment with the Nashville Sounds in Triple-A. They have also activated a right-hand reliever before today’s games

Nick Mears

The Brewers have sent Mears to Triple-A on a rehab assignment. He will pitch for the Nashville Sounds to work his way back to the Brewers’ Bullpen. Mears has been on the injured list since March 24th with an illness. Before being placed on the injured list, he had pitched in three Cactus League games. He pitched in three innings, allowing five hits, one unearned run, one walk, and striking out two. Mears left spring training with a 0.00 ERA and a 2.00 WHIP. Last year, Mears began his season with the Colorado Rockies. Later, the Brewers made a trade to acquire the 28-year-old right-hander. In total, he appeared in 54 games last year with one win and four losses. Mears pitched in 57.2 innings with 75 strikeouts, a 5.93 ERA, and a 1.47 WHIP.

Abner Uribe

The Brewers have activated Uribe today as well. The right-hand reliever could be some help to the team after their first four games. Last season Uribe had a 2-2 record with a 6.91 ERA over 14 games with the Brewers. He pitched in 14.1 innings, striking out 1,4 and had a 1.88 WHIP.

Summary:

The rehab assignment should be short. With any luck, Mears should be available to be recalled by the Brewers on April 8th. The team will be in Colorado to face the Rockies. After this three-game set with the Royals, the Brewers will host the Cincinnati Reds.
