MLB Game Recap

Milwaukee secured a 9-3 victory behind a 13-hit offensive explosion and shutdown relief pitching. Starting pitcher Brandon Sproat went 4.2 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 3 hits with 5 strikeouts and 3 walks on 78 pitches. The bullpen was anchored by Shane Drohan, who earned the win with 4.1 scoreless innings of four-hit ball and five strikeouts. The game changed dramatically in the fifth inning. A three-run home run extended an already comfortable lead. The lead grew to 8-0.

Standout Performer

Jake Bauers led the charge, finishing 2-for-4 with two runs, four RBIs, and one home run. Bauers delivered an RBI single during a four-run fourth inning. Later, he launched a 419-foot, three-run homer in the fifth to break the game open. He is currently batting .438 with two home runs and eight RBIs during a nine-game hitting streak.

Key News & Notes

Manager Pat Murphy was not satisfied with Robert Gasser’s recent season debut. He noted that “five free bases in four innings” is not a recipe for rotation consistency. On the injury front, Brandon Woodruff is making progress with shoulder inflammation and is scheduled to face hitters this Friday. Christian Yelich also looks fully healthy after returning from a back injury. He homered for the second consecutive day in Monday’s series opener.
