
The Boston Red Sox had their three-game winning streak snapped tonight in a 3-0 loss to the Blue Jays in the middle game of the three-game series. Peyton Tolle started the game for the Red Sox. Trey Yesavage made his return to the Blue Jays rotation tonight.
Toronto was the first to get on the board in the third when Kazuma Okamoto singled, scoring two runs; Okamoto was thrown out at second base. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. added a run with an RBI single in the fifth to make it 3-0.
Yesavage earned the win for Toronto. The righty allowed four hits and zero runs over five and one-third innings, striking out three and walking none. Tolle took the loss for Boston. The lefty went four and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs on three hits, striking out four and walking four. Louis Varland earned his fourth save.
Willson Contreras, Trevor Story, Masataka Yoshida, and Marcelo Mayer had the only hits for the Red Sox in the loss.
