
A walk-off left the Tigers on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat to the Braves on Wednesday. Atlanta was down 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth inning. Matt Olson would deliver a two-run home run to win the game. The win also secured the Braves’ 11th series win of the season. The Braves are the only team in baseball not to lose a series yet.

A home run to left field by Ozzie Albies put the Braves on the board in the bottom of the first.
Detroit tied the game in the top of the second thanks to a single by Kevin McGonigle, and an RBI groundout by Gleyber Torres.
Detroit took the lead in the top of the third. Riley Greene hit a solo home run to make it 3-2 Tigers. Then Olson delivered the blow off Kenley Jansen.
Jansen took the loss and blew his third save of the season. Reynaldo López earned the win for Atlanta. The former starting pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking none. Tarik Skubal started the game for the Tigers. The reigning AL Cy Young winner gave up five hits and two runs over seven innings. He struck out seven and walking none. JR Ritchie started the game for Atlanta. The young righty gave up five hits and three runs, two earned over five and one-third innings, striking out four and walking four.

Matt Olson went 2-4 but his final hit was the biggest as it secured the win in the game and the series for the Braves.
