Cincinnati Reds Down on the Farm Report 4/8-4/14

The Cincinnati Reds Minor League Affiliate clubs have all kicked off their seasons. Checkin with the Top Ten Prospects

3B – Noelvi Marte – Suspended 80 Games

RHP – Rhett Lowder – Dayton Dragons

Lowder made one start this past series going five innings, he did not factor in the decision. He gave up four hits, one earned run, and one walk, and struck out five on the day. He will make his next start on Friday against the Fort Wayne Tin Caps the High-A affiliate for the San Diego Padres.

SS – Edwin Arroyo—out for the Year–Chattanooga Lookouts

Arroyo is out for the seaosn.

RHP – Connor Phillips – Louisville Bats

Phillips started one game this past week he struggled going 3.2 innings, giving up seven hits, eight earned runs, four walks, three home runs, and striking out three. He finished the outing with an 8.38 ERA. He will look to bounce back this week against the Iowa Cubs on Tuesday.

RHP – Chase Petty– Chattanooga Lookouts

Petty started one game during the six-game series. He pitched 4.1 innings allowing eight hits, five earned runs, two home runs, two walks, four strikeouts, a 10.38 ERA, and a 2.31 WHIP on the day.

3B – Cam Collier – Dayton Dragons

Cam Collier played in four games with 16 at-bats over the last seven days. He scored one run, had five hits, one home run, and six RBIs. He ended the series slashing .313/.353/.500 and had a .853 OPS.

3B – Sal Stewart – Dayton Dragons

Stewart played in four games in the last seven days. He received 16 at-bats scoring seven runs, on seven hits, one home run, four RBIs, one walk, and struck out twice. He slashed .438/.471/.688 with a 1.159 OPS on the series.

SS – Richardo Cabrera – Daytona Tortugas

Cabrera played in four games over the last seven days, He had 16 at-bats, four runs, four hits, one double, one home run, three RBIs, two walks, and four strikeouts. He slashed .250/.368/.500 with a .868 OPS over the last seven days.

OF – Carlos Jorge – Dayton Dragons

Jorge played in four games over the last seven days. He had 16 at-bats, one run scored, three hits, one triple, one walk, struck out 10 times, and stole one base. He slashed .188/.235/.313 with a .548 OPS over the last seven days.

RHP – Ty Floyd – Arizona Complex League

Floyd is on the 60-day IL.

The Week Ahead

Louisville Bats (AAA) (7-8)

The Triple-A Louisville Bats hosted the Columbus Clippers for a new six-game series and split the series three to three. They will travel to take on the Iowa Cubs next when they square off against Cubs top outfield prospects Pete Crow-Armstrong and Owen Caissie.

Chattanooga Lookouts (AA) (3-5)

The Lookouts played the Tennessee Smokies for a six-game series this past week, but only got five games in due to two rainouts and only playing on a double-header on Saturday. They won the series three games to two. starting Tuesday, April 16th the Lookouts will travel to play a six-game series against the Biloxi Shuckers the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Dayton Dragons (High-A) (4-5)

The Dragons played Cedar Rapids Kernels a Minnesota Twins Affiliate for a six-game series this past week. They Lost the series two games to four. They now will host the Fort Wayne Tin Caps in a six-game series the High-A affiliate for the San Diego Padres. The player to watch from the Tin Caps is Ethan Salas the young catching prospect ranked 8th overall by the ITD for the top 100. Dylan Lesko is another top prospect for the Padres ranked 56th by ITD in the top 100 prospect rankings.

The Tortugas played Palm Beach Cardinals for a six-game series, which they lost two games to four last week. They travel to play the Bradenton Marauders the Single-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates for the next six-game series.
