Red Sox Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Boston Red Sox go for the sweep over the Cleveland Guardians tonight. The Red Sox have outscored the Guardians 17-11 in the first two games of the series. Today, the team announced that rookie outfielder Roman Anthony will go on the injured list with an oblique injury. The injury will have him out 4-6 weeks, likely ending his regular season if not his whole season. Nick Sogard will replace Anthony on the roster.

Roman Anthony

Anthony, in 71 games this season for the Red Sox, has hit .292 with a .859 OPS. He has 18 doubles, a triple, eight home runs, 32 RBI, 48 runs scored, four stolen bases, and 40 walks. He just earned Rookie of the Month honors for August. In August, he hit .304 with a .910 OPS. He had four doubles, six home runs, 13 RBI, 31 runs scored, two stolen bases, and 15 walks. In 58 games at Triple-A Worcester this season, he hit .288 with a .913 OPS. He had nine doubles, two triples, ten home runs, 29 RBI, 45 runs scored, three stolen bases, and 51 walks.

Nick Sogard

Sogard, in 18 games for the Red Sox this season, has hit .242 with a .641 OPS. He has five doubles, three RBI, ten runs scored, a stolen base, and four walks. In 91 games at Worcester, he hit .276 with a .778 OPS. He had 22 doubles, five home runs, 28 RBI, 64 runs scored, 16 stolen bases, and 64 walks.
