The Boston Red Sox will play the middle game of their series against the Oakland A’s today at 4:10 PM. Prior to today’s game, they made the following moves.
Boston Red Sox Roster Moves
- LHP Joely Rodriguez reinstated from 15-Day Injured List
- RHP Justin Garza was optioned to AAA Worcester to make room for Rodriguez.
Bottom Line for the Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox have won six of their last seven with two games left till the All-Star Break; the Red Sox could use a series sweep of the A’s as they will face the Cubs, A’s, Mets, and Braves when they return and could use momentum heading into those series and could make a run back into the Wild Card race. The Red Sox also get a left-handed arm added back to their bullpen. Hopefully, Rodriguez pitches like he has in previous years and can be helpful to Red Sox in the future. James Paxton is back from the Paternity List and will take the ball today as Paul Blackburn will oppose him for the A’s.
