The Boston Red Sox kicked off their Spring Training schedule with a 7-2 win over the Northeastern Huskies on Friday. To kick off their Grapefruit League schedule, they played the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday and lost a tough one on a walk-off home run. On Sunday they had a split-squad game with one half of the team beating the Atlanta Braves 5-4 and the other half beating the Minnesota Twins 8-6. On Monday they walked off the Philadelphia Phillies 7-6. On Tuesday they tied the St. Louis Cardinals 3-3. The Red Sox finished the first week of the Spring Training 3-1.

SS – Marcelo Mayer

Mayer is not playing for the Red Sox at Fort Myers.

OF – Roman Anthony

Anthony only appeared in Sunday’s game against the Twins and in that game, he went 0-1 with a run scored on two walks. He has a .000 average and a .667 OPS.

C – Kyle Teel

Teel would pinch hit for Masataka Yoshida on Sunday against the Twins, and he went 0-2 with a strikeout.

OF/SS – Ceddanne Rafaela

Rafaela has played in three games to this point and he is hitting .286 with a .873 OPS; he is 2-7 with a double, two walks, and a stolen base.

2B – Nick Yorke

Yorke played in the Northeastern game, and he went 1-2 with a run scored. Those stats won’t show up on what else he’s done but after three other games he is hitting .167 with a .453 OPS; he is 1-6 with two runs scored, a walk, and he scored the winning run on Monday on a passed ball.

OF – Miguel Bleis

Bleis is not playing for the Red Sox at Fort Myers.

RHP – Wikelman Gonzalez

Gonzalez pitched an inning on Sunday against the Twins, and he gave up no runs and two hits; he didn’t issue a walk and struck out two.

RHP – Richard Fitts

Fitts is not playing for the Red Sox at Fort Myers.

SS/2B – Mikey Romero

Romero is not playing for the Red Sox at Fort Myers

RHP – Luis Perales

Perales is not playing for the Red Sox at Fort Myers

Week Ahead:

This coming week the Boston Red Sox will play the Washington Nationals on Wednesday followed by the Detroit Tigers on Thursday. On Friday, March 1 they will take on the Minnesota Twins before having a split-squad day on Saturday when one half of the team takes on the Tampa Bay Rays and the other half take on the Washington Nationals. On Sunday they take on the Toronto Blue Jays, following up the rest of the week with the Tigers on Monday and the Rays on Tuesday.
