The Red Sox, despite being off tonight due to rain, had a roster move. Yesterday, they placed Jovani Moran on the 15-day injured list with left elbow inflammation. Southpaw Alec Gamboa was recalled from Worcester to take his spot. Moran, in 21 appearances with three coming as openers, went 1-2. He posted a 3.00 ERA, a 1.06 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts in 33 innings. Gamboa made one appearance for the Red Sox, going one inning without allowing a base runner and striking out two. In Worcester, he has made eight appearances with six coming as starts, going 2-3. He has a 3.66 ERA, a 1.18 WHIP, and 30 strikeouts in 32 innings.
