Washington Nationals Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Washington Nationals are looking to win their series over the Miami Marlins. They won the opener 7-4 on Friday night but lost last night 7-6. The Nationals will have MacKenzie Gore on the bump. Gore will face Cal Quantrill who gets the ball for Miami. Ahead of the finale they placed right-hander Orlando Ribalta on the 15-day injured list. They recalled right-handed pitcher Cole Henry from Triple-A Rochester. Ribalta in four appearances posts a 5.87 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP, and six strikeouts in 7.2 innings. Henry in two games hasn’t allowed a run, he’s given up one hit, walked three, and struck out four in two innings. Ribalta is the Nationals’ 29th overall prospect in their system.

Orlando Ribalta 

Ribalta last season with Washington made four appearances. He posted a 13.50 ERA, a 3.60 WHIP, and three strikeouts in 3.1 innings. He also pitched at Double-A and Triple-A. Ribalta made 51 appearances going 6-2 with five saves, a 2.82 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP, and 77 strikeouts in 54.1 innings.

Cole Henry

Henry was drafted in the second round of the 2020 draft. In 2024 pitched at High-A and Double-A. In eight appearances he made five starts going 0-1 with a 3.31 ERA, a 1.59 WHIP, and 17 strikeouts in 16.1 innings.
