Two Boston Red Sox Prospects Named Player of the Week

The Boston Red Sox minor league affiliates last week combined to go 13-11 and outscored their opponents 152-128.  The Triple-A affiliate the Worcester Red Sox, Double-A Portland Sea Dogs, and High-A Greenville Drive each split their series last week. Worcester outscored their opponent 37-25, Portland was outscored 40-37, and Greenville outscored their opponent 49-42. Single-A Salem was the only team to win their series taking four of the six games and outscoring their opponent 29-21. Two prospects had fantastic weeks that earned them Player of the Week honors. With second baseman Kristian Campbell who won Hitter of the Week for the Eastern League playing with the Portland Sea Dogs, in his second week since being promoted, he went 12-28 with four doubles, two home runs, seven RBI, nine runs scored, a walk, and a stolen base. This season between the two levels he is hitting .328 with a 1.013 OPS; he has 19 doubles, a triple, ten home runs, 35 RBI, 42 runs scored, 31 walks, and five stolen bases. The other Player of the Week is third baseman Cutter Coffey who took home Hitter of the Week for the South Atlantic League playing for the Greenville Drive, he went 8-19 with a double, six home runs, 15 RBI, eight runs scored, and five walks. This season he is hitting .232 with a .676 OPS; he has six doubles, 11 home runs, 33 RBI, 26 runs scored, 15 walks, and four stolen bases.

Kristian Campbell Career

Campbell was drafted by the Red Sox in the fourth round of the 2023 MLB Draft out of Georgia Tech. In his first season in the system, he spent time with the Red Sox rookie league team and High-A Greenville playing in 22 games he hit .309 with a .911 OPS; he had four doubles, two triples, a home run, five RBI, nine runs scored, three stolen bases, and ten walks.

Cutter Coffey Career

Coffey was drafted by the Red Sox in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft out of Liberty High School in Bakersfield California. In his first season, he played for the Red Sox rookie league team playing in 11 games hitting .125 with a .456 OPS; he had one double, seven runs scored, one stolen base, and seven walks. Last season, he played at Single-A Salem and High-A Greenville he played in 99 games hitting .210 with a .640 OPS; he had 16 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 35 RBI, 59 runs scored, 19 stolen bases, and 56 walks.
