The Toronto Blue Jays will play the first game of their three-game series with the Cincinnati Reds tonight. The Blue Jays are coming off a series loss over the weekend in which they were outscored 9-8. They have gone 8-7 in the month of August. Ahead of tonight’s game, they claimed Easton Lucas off waivers from the Detroit Tigers. In addition to adding Lucas, they have moved Alek Manoah to the 60-day injured list.

LHP – Easton Lucas 

Lucas this season has pitched for the Oakland A’s and Tigers as well as appearing for both of their Triple-A teams. In the minor between the two, he’s appeared in 32 games with one coming as a start going 3-1 with a 3.31 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP, a 4.2 BB/9, and a 9.6 K/9 in 49 innings. Between Oakland and Detroit, he’s appeared in six games going 1-0 with a 10.29 ERA, a 2.29 WHIP, a 6.4 BB/9, and a 10.3 K/9 in seven innings.

RHP – Alek Manoah 

Manoah has been out since the end of May after undergoing UCL surgery. He had made five starts going 1-2 with a 3.70 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP, a 3.0 BB/9, and a 9.6 K/9 in 24.1 innings. At Triple-A Buffalo and Single-A Dunedin, he made five starts going 0-2 with an 8.69 ERA, a 1.98 WHIP, a 5.0 BB/9, and a 12.8 K/9 in 19.2 innings. A majority of those starts came at Triple-A where he made four and he went 0-2 with a 6.50 ERA, a 1.67 WHIP, a 3.5 BB/9, and a 13.0 K/9 in 18 innings.
