The Toronto Blue Jays start a three-game series tonight with the Kansas City Royals. The Blue Jays made five roster moves ahead of tonight’s game. They reinstated outfielder Daulton Varsho from the 10-day injured list and will play tonight. The Blue Jays also activated right-handed pitcher Louis Varland and first baseman Ty France. They placed outfielder George Springer on the 7-day injured list with a concussion and optioned right-handed pitcher Paxton Schultz to Triple-A Buffalo.

Daulton Varsho

Varsho, in 24 games this season, is hitting .207 with a .783 OPS. He has five doubles, a triple, eight home runs, 20 RBI, 14 runs scored, a stolen base, and five walks. In 601 career games, he’s hit .224 with a .715 OPS. He has 94 doubles, 18 triples, 87 home runs, 260 RBI, 288 runs scored, 52 stolen bases, and 186 walks. Varsho won a Gold Glove last season.

Louis Varland

Varland in 51 games for the Twins, went 3-3 with a 2.02 ERA, a 2.89 FIP, a 1.10 WHIP, and 47 strikeouts in 49 innings. In 89 career games with 22 of those coming as starts, he is 8-14 with a 4.62 ERA, a 4.52 FIP, a 1.31 WHIP, and 188 strikeouts in 192.2 innings.

Ty France

France in 101 games is hitting .251 with a .678 OPS. He has 19 doubles, six home runs, 44 RBI, 41 runs scored, a stolen base, and 19 walks. In 803 career games, he’s hitting .262 with a .736 OPS. George Springer
