Toronto Blue Jays Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Toronto Blue Jays today will face the Baltimore Orioles in a doubleheader. The first game is a makeup of the April 11th rainout. Due to today being a doubleheader, the rosters for both teams will expand to 27. The Blue Jays recalled two pitchers, one lefty and one righty. They optioned a left-handed pitcher to Triple-A Buffalo. The first pitcher recalled is southpaw Easton Lucas, who will start game one today. The other pitcher is Lazaro Estrada. The pitching being optioned is lefty Justin Bruihl.

Easton Lucas

Lucas, this season, in five games, with four of those coming as starts, is 3-2. He posts a 5.82 ERA, a 1.43 WHIP, and 22 strikeouts in 21.2 innings. In the minors, he’s made 11 appearances, with seven of those coming as starts. Lucas is 2-3 with a 4.85 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP, and 39 strikeouts in 39 innings.

Lazaro Estrada

Estrada in one game for Toronto, went four innings, giving up one run on two hits. He didn’t issue a walk and struck out four. In 17 appearances, with 16 of those coming as starts at Buffalo, going 2-5. Estrada posts a 5.08 ERA, a 1.46 WHIP, and 70 strikeouts in 67.1 innings.

Justin Bruihl

Bruihl in 11 games posts a 6.48 ERA, a 1.40 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts in 8.1 innings. In 27 games at Buffalo, he is 3-3 with a 3.56 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP, and 37 strikeouts in 30.1 innings.
