The Toronto Blue Jays kicked off their series against the Pittsburgh Pirates with an extra inning walk-off 5-3 win in 14 innings. Today they will play the middle game with Yusei Kikuchi taking the ball against Mitch Keller for the Pirates. Ahead of the first pitch, the Blue Jays have placed their closer Jordan Romano on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation and they have recalled LHP Brendon Little from Triple-A Buffalo.

RHP – Jordan Romano
Romano is in his sixth season with the Blue Jays and in 2021 he took over the closer role appearing in 62 games and picking up 23 saves. He has made 231 appearances in his career going 20-17, he has 105 saves on April 28th he picked up his 100th career save. He posts a career ERA of 2.90 with a 3.53 FIP, a 1.14 WHIP, and 285 strikeouts in 229.2 innings. This season he has appeared in 15 games going 1-2 with eight saves, a 6.59 ERA, a 6.13 FIP, a 1.46 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts in 13.2 innings.
LHP – Brendon Little
Little was purchased by the Blue Jays in November of 2023. In his first season with the Jays, he’s made three appearances posting a 10.80 ERA, a 1.63 FIP, a 1.80 WHIP, and four strikeouts in 3.1 innings. At Buffalo, he appeared in 16 games going 0-2 with a 4.15 ERA, a 1.73 WHIP, and 25 strikeouts in 17.1 innings.
