Toronto Blue Jays Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Toronto Blue Jays will play a doubleheader today against the New York Yankees. Yesterday’s game got postponed due to inclement weather. Toronto won the first game of the series 4-2 on Friday night. Due to today being a doubleheader the roster expands to 27 and the Blue Jays are calling up outfielder Jonatan Clase. They also moved right-handed pitcher Ryan Burr to the 60-day injured list. Clase in 22 games at Triple-A Buffalo is hitting .343 with an .852 OPS. He has four doubles, eight runs scored, 13 stolen bases, and 13 walks. Burr is dealing with shoulder inflammation.

Jonatan Clase

Clase last season spent time with the Seattle Mariners and the Blue Jays. Between the two organizations’ Triple-A teams, he played in 94 games hitting .263 with a .783 OPS. He had 21 doubles, four triples, 12 home runs, 45 RBI, 66 runs scored, 38 stolen bases, and 49 walks. In 19 games with Seattle, he hit .195 with a .452 OPS. Clase had a double, three RBI, four runs scored, three stolen bases, and two walks. In seven games with Toronto, he hit .350 with a .985 OPS. He had a double, a home run, two RBI, three runs scored, and a walk.
