Toronto Blue Jays Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a 13-9 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in Grapefruit League play today to improve to 8-6 this spring. Following the win they announced that six players had been reassigned to minor league camp. Right-handed pitchers Lazaro Estrada, Eric Pardinho, Andrew Bash. Three position players, catcher Phil Clarke, infielders Josh Kasevich, and Riley Tirotta.

Lazaro Estrada

Estrada this spring in two games went 3.2 innings giving up two runs without allowing a hit; he walked three and struck out five. Last season he pitched at Single-A Dunedin, High-A Vancouver, and Double-A New Hampshire. In 22 starts he went 5-9. He posted a 3.29 ERA, a 1.15 WHIP, and had 113 strikeouts in 98.1 innings. 

Eric Pardinho

Pardinho in two appearances gave up five runs on three hits; he walked three and struck out two. Last season he pitched at Double-A New Hampshire and Triple-A Buffalo. He appeared in 45 games going 2-1. He posted a 3.25 ERA, a 1.21 WHIP, and had 66 strikeouts in 55.1 innings. 

Andrew Bash

Bash in five games this spring allowed five runs on seven hits in 4.2 innings; he walked three and struck out eight. Last season at Single-A Dunedin and Triple-A Buffalo he made 28 appearances with 16 of those coming as starts. He went 4-0 with a 2.91 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP, and had 77 strikeouts in 80.1 innings.

Phil Clarke

Clarke this spring in one game went 0-1. Last season at New Hampshire and Buffalo he played in 79 games hitting .260 with a .719 OPS. Clarke had 12 doubles, three home runs, 29 RBI, and 36 runs scored.

Josh Kasevich

Kasevich this spring went 2-9 with two RBI, and two runs scored. Last season at New Hampshire and Buffalo in 128 games he hit .296 with a .733 OPS. Kasevich had 28 doubles, six home runs, 64 RBI, and 74 runs scored.

Riley Tirotta 

Tirotta in 11 games this spring went 2-17 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Last season at Dunedin, New Hampshire, and Buffalo he played in 110 games. Tirotta hit .247 with a .818 OPS; he had 18 doubles, two triples, 15 home runs, 62 RBI, and 58 runs scored.
