The Toronto Blue Jays are coming off a 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates in Grapefruit League play and their top prospect Ricky Tiedemann picked up his first win of the spring going three innings giving up one run on one hit; he walked two and struck out five. Today they will take on the Boston Red Sox and will have Mitch White making his sixth appearance of the spring and only his second start, he is 2-0 with a 5.84 ERA, a 1.54 WHIP, and eight strikeouts in 12.1 innings. They have also trimmed their roster down and have assigned five players to Minor League camp.

Blue Jays Roster Moves

RHP – Connor Cooke

Cooke this spring has appeared in six games going 0-1 with a 9.53 ERA, a 2.12 WHIP, and five strikeouts in 5.2 innings. He most recently pitched on Tuesday going 0.2 innings giving up five runs on six hits, he hit a batter and didn’t record a strikeout. He spent last season at High-A Vancouver, Double-A New Hampshire, and Triple-A Buffalo, appearing in 38 games going 3-2 with a 4.06 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP, and 80 strikeouts in 44.1 innings.

RHP – Hayden Juenger

Juenger this spring has appeared in eight games going 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA, a 1.15 WHIP, and nine strikeouts in 8.2 innings. He pitched last night going one inning giving up one run on two hits; he didn’t walk anyone and struck out one on 20 pitches. He pitched last season at Triple-A Buffalo appearing in 54 games with five of those as starts going 5-2 with a 6.33 ERA, a 1.65 WHIP, and 92 strikeouts in 75.1 innings.

LHP – Brandon Eisert

Eisert this spring has appeared in eight games going 0-2 with a 6.48 ERA, a 1.56 WHIP, and eight strikeouts in 8.1 innings. He last pitched on Tuesday going 1.2 innings giving up three runs on three hits; he didn’t issue a walk and struck one out. He pitched at Triple-A Buffalo last season appearing 59 games with one of those as a start going 4-3 with a 4.17 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP, and 76 strikeouts in 69 innings.

LHP – Mason Fluharty

Fluharty this spring has appeared in six games going 0-1 with a 5.68 ERA, a 1.11 WHIP, and ten strikeouts in 6.1 innings. He last pitched last Friday going 0.2 innings giving up four runs on four hits; he walked one and struck out one. He pitched in 2023 at High-A Vancouver and Double-A New Hampshire he made 48 appearances going 3-5 with a 3.28 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP, and 75 strikeouts in 57.2 innings.

C – Phil Clarke

Clarke this spring played in ten games and hit .250 with a .821 OPS; he had two RBI, two runs scored, and three walks. He last played on Wednesday and drove in a run. Last season he played at Double-A New Hampshire and Triple-A Buffalo and in 70 games he hit .264 with a .777 OPS; he had six home runs, 18 RBI, and 38 runs scored.
