Tigers Ink Jace Fry to Minor League Deal

The Tigers have signed veteran southpaw Jace Fry to a minor league deal, per mlbtraderumors.com.

Fry, 29, last pitched in the MLB in 2021 with the Chi Sox. He spent 2022 as a member of the Washington Nationals AAA affiliate, the Rochester Red Wings, before being sent to the City Of Brotherly Love and pitching down in Lehigh for the Phillies AAA affiliate, the IronPigs.

Fry owns a 5.09 ERA in 162 MLB games, giving us the most accurate full-season representation of his abilities at the highest level.

Baseball Savant Jace Fry(2019)

His percentile ratings are not anything to get excited over, but the ability to put spin on the ball and get swings and misses is probably his most intriguing statistic.

He doesn’t get extended during his motion and has well below-average velocity, not to mention that walking batters is something he is remarkably consistent at doing.

Let us know what you think of this signing in the comments below!
