The Detroit Tigers Acquiring This Superstar Makes Perfect Sense

The State of the Detroit Tigers Entering the Offseason

The Winter Meetings are starting, and the Detroit Tigers are looking to add pitching, but there’s a bat that could slide into their lineup and make a lot of sense. That bat is Alex Bregman, who could be on the move from the Houston Astros, but what do the Astros need that could make a trade?

The Astros need pitching, and based on our top ten rankings, the Tigers have three pitchers in their top ten. the Astros and Tigers have a history; for instance, the Tigers traded Justin Verlander to the Astros, and AJ Hinch used to manage the Astros and also Bregman. So, would the Tigers want Bregman?

Alex Bregman By The Numbers

Bregman just wrapped up his eighth season, and he has a slash line of .274/.373/.487 with a .861 OPS; he has 235 doubles, 16 triples, 165 home runs, 588 RBI, 615 runs scored, 39 stolen bases, and 532 walks. In 2023, he slashed .262/.363/.441/ with a .804 OPS; he had 28 doubles, four triples, 25 home runs, 98 RBI, 103 runs scored, three stolen bases, and 92 walks. He is a two-time all-star, a two-time World Series Champion, and has won a silver slugger.

Wrap Up:

Alex Bregman would be a nice piece to the Tigers lineup that features Spencer Torkelson, Riley Greene, and Kerry Carpenter. The move overall would make sense, but what would you be willing to give up to make it happen?
