Texas Rangers Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Texas Rangers wrap up their four-game rivalry weekend series with the Houston Astros today. They have taken two of the first three games from Houston, outscoring them 9-7 in the series. Ahead of today’s finale, they activated outfielder Kevin Pillar from the injured list before placing outfielder Evan Carter on the injured list. They also recalled right-handed pitcher Caleb Boushley from Triple-A Round Rock and optioned right-handed pitcher Cole Winn to Round Rock.

Kevin Pillar

Pillar is hitting .237 with a .526 OPS in 18 games. He has two doubles, an RBI, six runs scored, and three stolen bases. In three games at Double-A, he went 1-10 with a run scored. 

Evan Carter

Carter in 11 games, is hitting .182 with a .543 OPS. He has a home run, three RBI, five runs scored, three stolen bases, and three walks. In 21 games at Triple-A, he’s hitting .221 with a .749 OPS. He has two doubles, two triples, three home runs, nine RBI, 13 runs scored, six stolen bases, and 13 walks.

Caleb Boushley

Boushley, in six appearances with the Rangers this season, is posting a 4.50 ERA, a 4.27 FIP, a 1.08 WHIP, and 12 strikeouts in 12 innings. In three starts at Round Rock, he is 0-1 with a 1.69 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP, and seven strikeouts in 10.2 innings. 

Cole Winn

Winn pitched 2.1 shutout innings in one game with Texas, giving up three hits and striking out one. In 12 games at Triple-A, he is 3-1 with a 0.00 ERA, a 0.94 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts in 23.1 innings.
