
The St. Louis Cardinals prepare to take on the Washington Nationals today in Grapefruit League action. Before today’s game, they have announced four roster moves. The moves were highlighted by the team sending Michael McGreevy to Triple-A to start his year with the Memphis Redbirds.

Michael McGreevy – RHP
The St. Louis Cardinals have optioned Michael McGreevy to Triple-A today. He will start his season pitching for the Memphis Redbirds. This spring McGreevy appeared in five games and made four starts. He pitched in 16.2 innings this spring finishing with a 1.08 ERA and a 0.60 WHIP. McGreevy struck out 12 batters this spring. He made four appearances last year for the Cardinals, three of which were starts. McGreevy won three games last year for the Cardinals. He had 18 strikeouts with his 1.96 ERA and 0.78 WHIP.
Jose Fermin – 2B
The St. Louis Cardinals have optioned Fermin to Triple-A today. He will start his year with the Memphis Redbirds. Fermin had 48 at-bats for the Cardinals this spring. He had 14 hits, one home run, nine RBIs, and scored four runs. Last year Fermin played in 45 games for the Cardinals. He had one double, one triple, four RBIs, and stole two bases. Fermin finished 2024 with a .155 batting average and a slash line of .241/.197/.438.
Jose Davila – RHP
The Cardinals have assigned Davila to the roster before their game with the Nationals. Davila spent last year pitching for the Palm Beach Cardinals in Single-A. He appeared in 22 games making 21 starts. He won six games and lost five. Davila pitched in 109.1 innings striking out 113 batters. He finished his 2024 with a 1.32 WHIP and a 3.54 ERA.

Cade McGee – 3B
The Cardinals have assigned McGee to the roster ahead of today’s game with the Nationals. McGee spent all of 2024 in Single-A with the Palm Beach Cardinals. He played in 20 games,. McGee had one double, one home run, eight RBIs, and stole one base. He finished the year with a .197 batting average and a slash line of .289/.258/.547.
