St. Louis Cardinals Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The St. Louis Cardinals conclude their series with the Cincinnati Reds this afternoon. The Cardinals dropped the first game of the series before taking the middle game last night, 3-0. The Cardinals are 6-8 in September, averaging 3.4 runs per game while allowing 4.9 runs per game. Ahead of today’s finale, they placed first baseman Willson Contreras on the 10-day injured list retroactive to September 16th with a right shoulder strain. To replace Contreras, the Cardinals recalled José Fermín from Triple-A Memphis. With the Cardinals likely not to make the postseason, this would likely end Contreras’ 2025 season.
