St. Louis Cardinals Roster Moves 3/23 Part 2

St. Louis Cardinals Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The St. Louis Cardinals made moves earlier this morning optioning several players to Triple-A Memphis Redbirds before today’s Grapefruit League game. Later announced were moves to beef up the Cardinals roster as the team preps for Opening Day on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers on March 28th.

LHP – Nick Raquet

Nick Raquet was assigned to the Cardinals roster today before the game to help round out the spring roster as the Cardinals get prepared for Opening Day against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Raquet has been out of baseball since he was released by the Fredericksburg Nationals on February 25th, 2020.

OF – Brayden Jobert

Jobert was assigned to the Cardinals roster today. He spent last year playing with the Palm Beach Cardinal in the Florida State League. He played in 32 games, scored 16 runs, two doubles, one triple, two home runs, 12 RBIs, 15 walks, six steals, and slashed .189/.330/.300 with a .630 OPS.

3B – Osvaldo Tovalin

Tovalin was assigned to the Cardinals roster today. Last year he played for High A Peoria Chiefs for the Cardinals. He played in 117 games, 50 runs scored, 24 doubles, three triples, seven home runs, 62 RBIs, eight steals, and slashed .239/.290/.357 with a .647 OPS.

C – Chase Adkison

Adkison was assigned to the Cardinals roster today before their Grapefruit League game. Adkison played for the Palm Beach Cardinals last year in the Florida State League. He played in 16 games, and scored nine runs, two doubles, seven RBIs, and four walks; he slashed .333/.367/.381 with a .748 OPS.

C – Bryan Torres

Torres was assigned to the Cardinals today before their spring game. Torress hasn’t had any minor league or MLB action since 2021. On September 21st, 2023 the Cardinals signed him as a free agent and assigned him to the Florida Complex League, where he saw no action as of yet.
