Probable Starting Pitchers
Game 1: Patrick Corbin (1-0, 3.86 ERA) vs. Osvaldo Bido (2-1, 2.61 ERA)
Corbin’s last outing nearly didn’t happen. Before arrival at the clubhouse, he was bitten on the foot by a venomous insect and could barely walk. He pitched an absolute gem that night against the Halos. He went 5.1 innings, allowing only five hits, one run, one walk, and striking out six. Bido was credited with the win for the Athletics in his last start. He went 5.1 innings, allowing only five hits, one earned run, and one walk. However, he did not strike out any batters he faced.
Game 2: Kumar Rocker (1-2, 6.38 ERA) vs. JP Sears (2-2, 3.13 ERA)
Rocker earned his first win of the season and recorded a career-best seven innings and eight strikeouts. Rocker became one of only five pitchers since 2021 to achieve this feat. He pitched 7+ innings, struck out 8+ batters, allowed 0 BB, 5-or-fewer hits. Sears is coming off a win, having gone six shutout innings, allowing three hits. He wakes two, and struck out two.
Game 3: Jacob deGrom (0-1, 3.32 ERA) vs. JT Ginn (1-1, 3.60 ERA)
DeGrom pitched a gem, he did take the loss in the series opener against the Dodgers. The only dark spot in his performance was the solo home run he gave to Tommy Edman on the game’s second pitch. He finished seven innings, allowed three hits, one walk, and struck out seven. Ginn suffered his first loss of the season on the same night against the Brewers. He went 4.2 innings, gave up four hits, three earned runs, and two walks. However, he struck out seven and will be a challenge for the Texas Rangers.
Player To Watch:
Texas Rangers
Wyatt Langford was activated just before Sunday’s game against the Dodgers. As we saw in his rookie year, he is always one to watch. He recorded two hits and two runs in his two rehab starts with the Frisco RoughRiders. Additionally, he also had one home run, one RBI, two walks, and only one strikeout. In Sunday’s game against the Dodgers, he recorded one hit, walk, strikeout, and stolen base. The game ended on a controversial play. Langford was called out when attempting to steal second. This happened during the Texas Rangers game.
Athletics
Shea Langeliers is not someone the Rangers want to butt heads with. In 2024, he was dubbed the Ranger Killer. He had six home runs against Ranger pitching, three of which were in a single game. Langeliers has a career 25 hits and 18 runs against the Rangers. He also has 10 home runs and 25 RBI, along with seven walks. He does, however have 32 strikeouts against the Rangers.
