Seiya Suzuki Leaves Game Against Dodgers

The Chicago Cubs are playing the middle game of their series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Cubs lost the opener to the Dodgers 3-0. Seiya Suzuki left tonight’s game in the fifth inning when he was pinch-hit for in the fifth inning. Miguel Amaya came into the game for Suzuki to DH. Amaya flew out in his first at-bat. Suzuki had gone 0-2 with a line out and a ground out. In 17 games this season he’s hitting .292 with a .928 OPS. He has two doubles, a triple, four home runs; 15 RBI, 11 runs scored, 11 walks, and a stolen base. If he’s out for significant time it’s a big loss for the Cubs lineup.

Suzuki over his first four seasons is hitting .279 with a .829 OPS. He has 82 doubles, 15 triples, 59 home runs, 208 RBI, 214 runs scored, 175 walks, and 32 stolen bases. Last season in 132 games he hit .283 with an .848 OPS. He had 27 doubles, six triples, 21 home runs, 73 RBI, 74 runs scored, 16 stolen bases, and 63 walks. He had career highs in home runs, stolen bases, and walks.
