Romy Gonzalez Leaves Games Against Rangers

The Boston Red Sox entered tonight’s game having lost three straight games. They dropped the series opener to the Texas Rangers last night 6-1. Tonight they are currently up 5-3 in the middle game of the series. In the seventh inning another incident at first base for another Red Sox first baseman. Romy Gonzalez had an awkward stretch to reach first base on a ground ball and ended up leaving the game but did so under his own power. The Red Sox lost Triston Casas on Friday for the remainder of the season and Gonzalez is currently the starting first baseman due to that injury but him leaving under his own power was a good sign. Gonzalez this season entering tonight is hitting .327 with a .831 OPS. He has six doubles, six RBI, ten runs scored, three stolen bases, and four walks. Since taking over he’s gone 5-12 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases.
