Nolan Schanuel was born in Boca Raton, Florida, on February 14, 2002.  He played high school baseball at Park Vista Community High School in Lake Worth, FL. He was the sixth-ranked outfielder and the 22nd overall player in Florida in 2020. As a junior, he hit .446 with 22 RBI and 27 runs scored. In his senior year, he hit .520 with ten RBI and 14 runs scored. However, the remainder of his season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Schanuel was the 18th-ranked outfielder nationally and ranked 95th overall. He committed to play college baseball at Florida Atlantic University.

Where Did Nolan Schanuel Go to College?

The summer before attending Florida Atlantic, Schanuel played at Boynton Beach in the South Florida Collegiate Baseball League. In 23 games, he slashed .269/.418/.404 with a .822 OPS; he had five doubles, one triple, five RBI, ten runs scored, five stolen bases, and 13 walks. In his first season at Florida Atlantic, he played in 55 games he slashed .343/.444/.576 with a 1.020 OPS; he had 11 doubles, one triple, 11 home runs, 56 RBI, 54 runs scored, six stolen bases, and 28 walks. That summer he played for Bethesda of the Cal Ripken Collegiate League and in 24 games he slashed .333/.510/.520 with a 1.030 OPS; he had five doubles, three home runs, 24 RBI, 17 runs scored, four stolen bases, and 21 walks. In his second season at Florida Atlantic, he played in 58 games and slashed .369/.477/.658 with a 1.134 OPS; he had 17 doubles, 16 home runs, 56 RBI, 55 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, and 39 walks. Schanuel in the summer of 2022, he played in the Cape Cod Baseball League with Hyannis. In 36 games, he slashed .200/.342/.272 with a .614 OPS. He had four doubles, one triple, and one home run. He also had 11 RBI, 16 runs scored, 14 stolen bases, and 24 walks. In his final season, he played in 59 games for Florida Atlantic and he slashed .447/.615/.868 with a 1.483 OPS. He had 18 doubles, four triples, and 19 home runs. He also had 64 RBI, 70 runs scored, 14 stolen bases, and 71 walks.

Schanuel entered the 2023 draft as the 26th overall prospect and the 17th college prospect. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels with the 11th overall pick.

Schanuel in his first season with the Angels played for their rookie league team, Single-A Inland Empire, and Double-A Rocket City playing in 22 games and he slashed .365/.505/.487 with a .992 OPS; he had four doubles, one triple, one home run, 15 RBI, 20 runs scored, two stolen bases, and 21 walks. He also made his debut with the Angels playing in 29 games and he slashed .275/.402/.330 with a .732 OPS; he had three doubles, one home run, six RBI, 19 runs scored, and 20 walks.

2024

Schanuel in 2024 played in 147 games for the Angels hitting .251 with a .706 OPS. He had 19 doubles, 13 home runs, 54 RBI, 62 runs scored, ten stolen bases, and 68 walks.
