Dalton Rushing was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on February 21, 2001. He played high school baseball at Brighton High School in Brighton, TN. He was the second-ranked catcher and the sixth overall player in Tennessee in 2019. As a senior, he hit .491 with 11 home runs and 46 RBI as he also earned All-State honors. Rushing was the 26th-ranked catcher nationally and ranked 235th overall. He committed to play college baseball at the University of Louisville.
