Bubba Chandler was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia on September 14, 2002. He played high school baseball at North Oconee High School in Bogart, GA. He was the number one ranked RHP and the 13th-ranked overall player in Georgia. At North Oconee he went 8-1 with a 1.25 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 44.2 innings, at the plate he hit .383 with 12 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, 35 RBI, 41 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, and 18 walks. Chandler was ranked the fourth RHP in the country and the 13th overall player. He committed to play college baseball at Clemson University.

When Was Bubba Chandler Drafted?

Chandler was the 21st-ranked prospect entering the 2021 draft and the 12th-ranked high school prospect. He would end up being drafted in the third round by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Bubba Chandler Pirates Tenure

2022

Chandler played for the Pirates rookie league team and Single-A Bradenton, he made 14 appearances with 11 of those as starts going 1-1 with a 2.61 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 41.1 innings.

Chandler played at High-A Greensboro and Double-A Altoona making 25 starts going 10-4 with a 4.54 ERA and he had 128 strikeouts in 111 innings.

ITD ranks Chandler as the 94th overall prospect and the Pirates fifth-ranked prospect. He is expected to start the season at Double-A or Triple-A.
