Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds left the game midway through as his wife went into labor. Today, the Pirates placed Reynolds on the paternity list and recalled outfielder Billy Cook from Triple-A Indianapolis. Reynolds this season in 71 games is hitting .222 with a .655 OPS. He has ten doubles, two triples, eight home runs, 39 RBI, 23 runs scored, three stolen bases, and 28 walks. Cook in 61 games for Triple-A Indianapolis is hitting .271 with a .688 OPS. He has 11 doubles, a triple, 20 RBI, 23 runs scored, ten stolen bases, and 26 walks.

Bryan Reynolds

Reynolds is in his seventh big league season, all with Pittsburgh. In 865 career games, he’s hit .272 with a .807 OPS. He has 167 doubles, 28 triples, 130 home runs, 450 RBI, 455 runs scored, 41 stolen bases, and 336 walks. He finished fourth in Rookie of the Year voting in 2019. He’s a two-time All-Star and finished 11th in MVP voting in 2021.
