The Pittsburgh Pirates tonight play the third game of their four-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Pirates dropped the first two games and are on a three-game losing streak. During the skid, they’re averaging three runs per game while allowing 6.7 runs per game. The Pirates will have Bubba Chandler taking the ball as he faces off against Andre Pallante for the Cardinals. Ahead of tonight’s game, the Pirates are calling up right-handed pitcher Chris Devenski from Triple-A Indianapolis. The first part of the move is sending left-handed pitcher Hunter Barco to Triple-A. Barco was recalled yesterday and helped the Pirates’ bullpen last night. To make room on the 40-man roster for Devenski, the Pirates designated right-handed pitcher Ryan Harbin for assignment.
