Can the Phillies Keep Winning Games?

The Philadelphia Phillies need to try to keep winning games, especially since it’s August and the season is winding down. The Phillies hold a 1.5-game lead over the New York Mets for first place in the National League East. Those two teams have a meeting coming up at the end of the month that could see one of the two teams by then pull away in the division by then or keep it close for their other series in September. The pieces the Phillies added at the deadline are crucial for them on this stretch run. Jhoan Duran has taken the reins as the team’s closer, appearing in two games over the weekend and recording two saves without allowing a base runner. Harrison Bader hit his first home run for the Phillies last night as well. This will be a crucial month for the Phillies and their new pieces.
