Oakland Athletics Roster Transactions | Inside The Diamonds

The Oakland A’s tied the Chicago White Sox yesterday in Cactus League play 3-3 and are playing the Arizona Diamondbacks today in spring training action. Before the games today, they made three roster moves to continue to shape up the roster as Opening Day nears and Spring training winds down.

Assigned to Oakland A’s Roster

C – CJ Rodriguez

Rodriguez spent all of last year playing for Lansing in the Midwest League. He played in 76 games and had 13 doubles, two home runs, and 30 RBIs while slashing .185/.260/.270 with an OPS of .530 on the year. He is a 23-year-old Catcher who stands five foot five and weighs 200 lbs.

3B – Myles Naylor

Naylor played last season between two teams, the A’s Arizona Complex League team and the Stockton team in the California League. He appeared in 34 games of those 34 games 32 of them came while playing for Stockton in A league ball. He had six home runs, 17 RBIs, two stolen bases, and slashed .208/.280/.375 with an OPS of .655 during those 32 games. Naylor is 18 years old and stands six foot two while weighing 195 lbs.

SS – Derrick Salom

Salom played all last year with the Stockton team in the California League where he played in 74 games. In those games, he had nine doubles, one triple, one home run, 25 RBIs, 48 walks, one steal, and slashed .212/.337/.267 with an OPS of .604 on the year. Salom is a 23-year-old five foot ten 135-pound third base prospect.
