Nolan Arenado List Six Potential Suitors

Nolan Arenado List Six Potential Suitors

The offseason is heating up with big names coming off the market, what hasn’t been tapped into yet is the trade market and with the Winter Meetings coming to an end tomorrow, there could be a deal coming. One name to watch is Nolan Arenado who the St. Louis Cardinals are reportedly interested in moving. Arenado has a no-trade clause and he has said there are six teams he’d be willing to waive his no-trade clause for, they are the Los Angeles Angels, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, and San Diego Padres. Arenado makes a lot of sense for all of those teams, for the Angels he’d be a nice piece to add with Mike Trout. For the Mets, he’d fit in nicely with the addition to Juan Soto and they can slide Mark Vientos to first base. For the Dodgers, it is another bat added to an already-loaded lineup. The Phillies acquiring Arenado would allow them to trade Alec Bohm for another need. The Red Sox could make the trade as they could move Masataka Yoshida who Chaim Bloom loved when he was in Boston and would allow Rafael Devers to be the designated hitter and make the Red Sox better defensively. The Padres would help add some more to their lineup.

Bottom Line:

Arenado isn’t the same player he used to be but he is still solid defensively and can be a key piece to whatever team acquires him.
