Probable Starting Pitchers

Chicago Cubs vs. New York Mets

Game 1: James Taillon (2-1, 3.86 ERA) vs. Clay Holmes (4-1, 2.95 ERA)

Taillon will get game one for the Cubs. He beat the Brewers in his last start. He pitched six innings allowed three hits, two runs, one walk, and struck out five. Holmes will go for the Mets. The Cubs have not announced a starter for game two yet. Reports have indicated they are calling up Cade Horton. He is their number two-ranked prospect. Horton should get the start against the Mets in game two. Megill will pitch for the Mets. He did not factor into the decision in his last start against the Cardinals. He pitched five innings allowed four hits, four runs, three walks, and struck out six.

Game 3: Matthew Boyd (1-3, 4.07 ERA) vs. Griffin Canning (5-1, 2.50 ERA)

Boyd will start the final game of the series for the Cubs. He beat the Giants in his last start. Boyd pitched six innings allowed five hits, two runs, and struck out seven. Canning will go for New York. He beat the Diamondbacks in his last start. Canning pitched five innings allowed six hits, one run, one walk, and struck out six.
