Richard Fitts will take on Simeon Woods-Richardson in game one tonight at Target Field. Rumors suggest that the Twins might be sellers during this year’s deadline. This possibility should make the next few days very interesting. While fans wait to see what the team does at the deadline, and find out who’s coming and going. The Minnesota Twins have announced three roster moves today before game one of their series with the Red Sox. They have selected the contract of one pitcher. They have designated one for assignment. Another is optioned back to Triple-A today.

Michael Tonkin

The Minnesota Twins have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Michael Tonkin from the St. Paul Saints of Triple-A. Tonkin aims to make his 2025 season debut. He spent the first half of the season dealing with a right shoulder strain. Tonkin has pitched in 18 games in Triple-A this year. He has two wins and a 4.82 ERA while pitching 28 innings for St. Paul so far. Tonkin is a thirty-five-year-old veteran being added to the bullpen mix.

Connor Gillispie

The Minnesota Twins have designated the right-handed pitcher for assignment. The Twins claimed Gillispie off waivers on June 23rd of this year. This happened after the Marlins designated him for assignment. In four games pitching for the St. Paul Saints, Gillispie has one win and one loss. He has a 14.49 ERA and a 2.27 WHIP over 13 and two-thirds innings pitched this year.

Travis Adams

The Minnesota Twins have optioned Travis Adams to Triple-A, where he will continue his season with the St. Paul Saints. Adams has pitched in four games this season for the Twins, recording one win and one loss. In 12 and one-third innings pitched, Adams has an 8.03 ERA and a 1.62 WHIP. Adams will head back and pitch in Triple-A, where he has had some success this year. In 19 games with St. Paul, Adams has a three and two record and a 3.68 ERA.
