The Minnesota Twins are coming off a series win. They took three of four from the Athletics. Now they are preparing to head into Toronto to face the Blue Jays this weekend. The Twins have a 34-28 record and sit in second place in the AL Central heading into the weekend. They are six games back from the division-leading Detroit Tigers after 62 games played. Before today’s series opener with the Blue Jays, the Minnesota Twins have announced two roster moves. They have optioned a left-hand reliever to Saint Paul. They recalled a right-hand arm from Triple-A. This swap is intended to shake up the bullpen.

Kody Funderburk

The Minnesota Twins have made a roster change today. They optioned left-hand pitcher Kody Funderburk to Triple-A. This occurred ahead of the series opener with the Toronto Blue Jays. Funderburk pitched in nine games so far this year for the Twins. He recorded one win during his time up with the team. Through 12 innings of work Funderburk had a 7.50 ERA and a 1.92 WHIP along with nine strikeouts.

Travis Adams

The Minnesota Twins have recalled right-hand pitcher Travis Adams from Triple-A today to replace Funderburk on the roster. Adams has made 13 appearances for St. Paul in Triple-A this year. He has made two starts this year. Adams has three wins and one loss on the season. Adams has pitched in 42 innings. He allowed 16 earned runs, two home runs, and 10 walks. He struck out 37 this year.
